Certificate showing no previous Conviction

To everybody who's going or has gone through the AOS interview.
I was wondering if the Alien Relative must show a letter or certificate that she/he doesnt have any criminal record or convictions in the home country.
Wanted to make sure and be prepared instead of something stupid and overlooked to pop up in the last moment.

That's what I've heard from people, it doesnt hurt you anyway if you try to prepare it for you just in case something like that might happen

when you go through consular processing, it's required. When you go through AOS, it's not required.
