Case transfers & Interviews

Excellent question. Moderators/Gurus can you please shed some light.

My online message says "On ...... we transfered your case ...... Our office ......... will send you a written decision when processing is complete....." There was no metion anywhere about an interview.

However, the online message of some folks on the board here says ""On ...... we transfered your case ...... Our office ......... to sechdule and conduct an interview....."

This goes back to "betoserrano" question! Any insights!!!

I have heard of cases where a local office approved an I-485 without an interview, but I think there's only a single one that comes to mind.

Your case is transferred because an ajudicator believes that an interview is necessary. I'd say that after a transfer, your odds of getting an interview are around 99.9%. Don't worry - most are relatively straightforward.

Further info.. Just spoke to my lawyer, who says that yes, an interview will be required, although she says that this was transfered due to our various inquires by phone to the INS, which seems as a stupid answer.... Are you aware of any special reasons for transfering the file

Right there. Mine is a future employment AC21 case. Some Service Center adjudicators, but not all, will transfer AC21 cases. If they're not sure about the job duties, they'll err on the side of caution and transfer.
