Case Status Inquiry

I initiated a Status Inquiry for my Sept 2002 I-485.

Today, after 25 months, the Case Status online message is altered to :

On November 1, 2004, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Does this indicate anything positive or is it just USCIS' way of saying that they have responded to my Status Inquiry ( with their blah blah message
of course ) ?

standard

Mr. Sumanta, I understand your situation very much because I have been closely follow your posts here. I myself is 2003, March filer. I am sorry that I have to tell you that nobody can help us and your status change online is a very very standard bullshit from USCIS. The fact that hey received the inquiry doesn't mean they will look at your case.

Sometimes I really don't whose mother of those IIOs that I F#$#ed that they screw me so badly.

We are in blackhole. Stay and pray. No other choices.

Sumanta,

I hope you get a better response in your letter than I did from USCIS, Goodluck!!

What did you get ?

What response did you get ?
How are you planning to get out of this status quo ?

message change

Hi Guys

This is the message my wife got today in the email, no change in my case.

"On November 1, 2004, we responded to your request for more information concerning your case. If you have not received our response within 30 days from this date, please call customer service at 1-800-375-5283".

I'll post the details as soon as we receive the letter.

ND 22nd sep 2002
1st FP 30th oct 2002
still waiting for 2nd FP

I think here's a pattern

For whatever reasons, I think, us folks with sept 2002 RD & ND's are
just doomed.

All of us, on initiating a Status Enquiry will get a response in the lines of

" your case is waiting service consideration .....blah blah ( read...no case
officers to work on ) "

OR

" lack of manpower...apologies for delay blah blah...( again, read, no case
officers to work on ) "

After another 30 days, another Status Enquiry will probably yield the same..
..on and on...

And we know how much really they lack manpower with all these 2003 &
2004 ( and soon 2005 ) approvals streaming in...

sumanta/Sanju/KCR,

and all interested,

I received mail from uscis in response to my status inquiry.." The processing of your application has been delayed. All applications recd by this svc center r reqd to have routine fp checks that r resulting in delays of the adjudications of apps. as a result of lack of manpower to complete the checks in a timely manner, we have no control over how long these checks will take. we can give no definite indication of when they will be completed. we apologize for the delay. fp's have an expiration time frame; they are only valid for 15 months. if they are acceptable prints, then the service can send the file for a final determination.

for future status inquiries... blah blah blah.. " you get the idea. I abbreiviated where possible while typing this message, its pretty long explanation of not doing your job. and even the language itself seems to re-iterate, we know we are wrong, we know we are not doing our job, we apologize but please don't send any more status inquiries coz we have no idea when we will if ever get back to work.

You got this message becuase of address change. Did you change the address? I got same message 1 month back. Check it.

Dear AK2002:

It looks like from your signature you have your Name check completed during Sep 2004 after your 2nd finger printings. I was under the impression that Name check will only happens once with FBI within couple of months after we file I485

Does USCIS requests for Name check each time we did FP or is it one time ?

kvpt_mm,

I have also heard that USCIS requests namecheck only once during the entire process. After my second FP when I didn't get a response, I decided to check if my name check was completed, After several enquiries FBI finally got back saying we completd it on sept 24th. On questioning they explained they sent the results to USCIS on Sept 27th. hence the signature. Maybe USCIS didn't request mine till later.. maybe FBI decided they needed to hold some cases back too, they are as important as USCIS or more!

Bachu01,
Are you serious, you got the same mail as me in response to your address change? Did you get it at your new address. I have not changed my address and I got it at the right address where I have been staying from the time I started my labor back in 2000.

Great question ?

kvpt_mm,
You have asked a very pertinent and great question. I have
asked that myself time & again. Any definitive answers to the same ?

Oh, by the way, how long should i wait to hear back via e-mail from
FBI about name Check ? I e-mailed FBI on Oct 19, 2004.

Please update.

Sumanta,

I would say you should send another email to FBI requesting a reply. I called them and left them voicemails every week and sent one fax. I know the voicemail is not availablae now. but Do follow up every other week at least.
