I have been on your place, my status was application is pending for about 3 months, then back to deciasion is pending, then approval after.
So total of 7 months from the day I submitted the asylum, and 5.5 moths after interview till I received approval.
So keep praying and the best of luck for you.
Thats the timeline on my case, hope that help a bit.

I recently finished my asylum interview. Before I went to pick up the result, I got a phone call from the asylum office. The officer told me that my decision would be mailed to me and that I didn’t need to come to the office to pick it up. Then, I checked my online case status. it changed from Decision is Pending to Application is Pending. Has anyone else experienced this? What does this status change usually mean?

As my experience with exact same status, I got approved 5 months after my status changed to application is pending.

It’s been a long wait. My asylum interview is at Tustin, California. Where did you have your interview?
My interview was Arlington Office VA,
See my timeline attached.
After the approval, the timeline changed to I-765 instead of I-589

What day was your interview? Mine was on Sep 23rd, and in Tustin.was told to pick up on Oct.7th. Went there that day and was told not ready. The front window officer told me they called but did not get answered( I was totally not expecting getting a phone call from them) , and told me the decision will be mailed to me. Status shows decision pending… good sign or bad sign? Waited for 9 years

I also waited for 9 years. My interview was on Sep 26th. I should go pick up tomorrow. But I got a phone call from officer today. She told me the decision will be mailed to me. Some people said it’s a good sign. I’m not sure. Wish we both have a good luck.

Pray for both of us!!

We have experienced similar situation. I also interviewed at Tustin, got a call says my decision is not ready and will be mailed instead of picking up. Did you get a call from the Tustin office? Since I got a call from DC.

My online status also changed to application pending.

I got a call from Tustin. Sometimes cases are sent up for additional review, security checks, or second-level review managed by a central office. The D.C. office might be involved in that process.

That is what I was assuming. My case is currently under DC headquarter review. I hope the best for everyone here who are experiencing delays at Tustin office. I have seen a lot of similar cases lately.

Hello has anyone has updates? Yesterday Friday My status changed from Decision Pending to Application pending. Is it a good sign?

In my opinion application pending means the case is under review. There might be no decision made due to complexity, officer and supervisor have different opinions, or something else such as background check waiting for final clearance. Welcome to the wait. This might be a long process but I am glad that we are not alone.

I have read many people that were approved after having status change to application is pending. But not seem to often to see decision pending to fees waived or approval. Also, I have not seen any that were denied after application is pending.

I have a feeling application pending is when decision is submitted to last phase of background check and new EAD card production before changing to decision mailed .

Any thoughts?
