Please help.. here is my situation.
GC approved Sep 29th, received the Approval letter after 2 weeks. Moved last week and sent out an AR11.
Travelling abroad in 2 weeks and need a Transit Visa if we dont have the plastic card before that Can I go to the local USCIS office and get passport stamped with the approval letter ?
or do I have to file I-90 and wait and the notice with me for stamping.

Yes. You can take an infopass and bring your approval notice and they will stamp your passport. Also you can check why you don't have the GC yet when you take infopass. It is possible that they will require a Biometrics but just a guess. Good luck.

------------your GC may go to past address or will be returned .form AR11 does NOT change address with pending petitions with USCIS.

Thanks for your responses ginnu and defrag. I heard from someone that they are no longer doing any stamping at local offices. Can I go with Infopass, take my approval notice and the recent biometrics (Code 1) from Aug' 06 and the tickets and see if they could stamp.
When I called the USCIS customer service the other day he mentioned that the cards might have been lost and I will have to file I90 and pay $260 each for a replacement. So, just wanted to confirm. Also, would the local office ask for I90 receipt notice before they do any stamping ?

----------------YES try that and post the info once you visit local USCIS

Check your Status Online

Go to USCIS website and check ur status. If the GC was sent to ur old address and returned to USCIS. You should see an update like this;

Our last written notice in this case was returned as undeliverable by the post office on October 2, 2006. To update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

Good Luck !!

Hi Defrag,
This is what I see online for my wife's case.. but I did not see anything for my case.

Our last written notice in this case was returned as undeliverable by the post office on October 13, 2006. To update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

I think this was regarding the Approval letter's because they went to the old address, got sent back to USCIS and they forwarded it to my new address.
Are you saying that these might be the Plastic cards itself. We did not receive neither the Welcome letter nor the Plastic cards. I actually sent the AR11 last week and called them yesterday and updated with the new address.
