Cancel mail-in TN renewal?

I mailed in a renewal for my TN, but had to travel back to Canada in the interim and just ended up doing the renewal at the POE. Does anyone know how to cancel the I-129 I sent in?
 
Send a letter to the Service Center on your I-129 receipt notice, along with a copy of said notice.

The reason to do this is in case your I-129 is rejected for some reason, you would be out of status, and would need to go to the border again for a new TN.
