Canadian visa in order to get the H1b stamp

I got an appointment in June in Vancouver for my H1b visa (currently employed in USA; H1 expiring in 10/2012).

In the canadian visa form, what do people usually put it as reason for visit? Tourism? Other? Should I mention the appointment in the consulate?

I would prefer to get a three month visa (multiple entry). This is contingency just in case if I am subjected to further administrative processing? I would appreciate some feedback.

thanks,

--------If US consulate in Canada reject your Visa then you cant Enter US from Canada and be ready to go to your home country directly from Canada for Visa stamping.

You can request and pay for a multiple entry visa but bear in mind you might not be given a multiple entry visa. Canadian consulates are a little stingy and skeptical when it comes to certain passport holders

thanks for the replies. I might not need multiple entry, just hoping they will give me for few months which will be useful if I am subjected to administrative processing.

Just an update. I got my Canadian visa within 10 business day. I sent it to Detroit. I got multiple entry till March, 11.
