My Canadian Spouse initially worked after GC application? What is expected on GC Interview

I have a GC and married my Canadian wife around 4 years ago. I have just recently applied for my Citizenship
She previously studied in the US pre 2001 so had a Social Security Number.

After marriage I applied for her GC. And since i was GC holder i knew it would take a long time for her to get her GC.

Since she had a SSN she decided that she can work so she did for around 8 months(we did file our taxes). We did not really think about the GC interview or application when we decided that she should work. And we thought her employer would not sponsor her for a T1 visa.

Also at no point in our 4 years of marriage has she ever stayed more than 6 months in the US.

So i would like to know what do we say about her work if she is asked by the officer?

I think we should come clean about her work. But i am looking for someone else with similar experience what we should do.

Also would her GC interview be in Canada or US?

What route will you be going, AOS or CP? Unauthorized employment will be overlooked at the AOS interview.
She can safely come clean if asked.

Please clarify. You said she worked in the US for 8 months, but never stayed more than 6 months?

She went to Canada well between the 6 months max stay even when she worked. So i believe she went back 4 months after she started to work for about 2 weeks.

Ok so I have already applied for citizenship and i got my Priority Date of Dec 3rd 2009....I am anticipating my Citizenship coming in around March/April. Does my religion(islam) matter as far as getting citizenship when i know have a very clean record??
I have never stepped out of North America since coming to USA. Only going to Canada a few times with my wife.

So once my wife's Visa number comes in how long can we take to apply for I-485 and I-765. I just want to make sure i become a citizen before we go in for her interview.... and worse come worse... can we just reschedule her interview? if so how many months can this buy us?

Hopefully i dont have to do any of this...cross my fingers i get my citizenship in March :)

If your religion does matter then the service is in violation of the First Amendment of the United States Constitution: Freedom of Religion.

Since the OP is an N-400 applicant, I ruled out the possibilty of the interview taking place while he is still a PR. However you are right, I should not assume things :)
Given that his I-130 priority date is probably current or soon to be current (based on the F2A petition 4 years ago), it is not so unlikely the interview would happen before he becomes a USC.

Then don't file the I-485 before you become a citizen. And when you file it, include a copy of your naturalization certificate. The illegal work is likely to result in I-485 problems if you are still a permanent resident.

Is she still in the US? If yes, she should not leave until her green card is approved.

It didn't matter when I got my K-1 visa, GC status and US citizenship!!!

Actually i ment to say that Does religion matter as far as how fast you can get your citizenship...i know i will get it...its just i would like to have it faster than later because of my wife.

But thats to everyone for their replies.

No. What matters will be how long your name check takes to clear.

Naah my name isnt going to take a long time to get cleared. I tend to fly a little bit and i dont get "randomly scanned" as other people Islamic names.

thanks for all the replies.
