Hi!,

My H1B visa stamp has expiered as of Oct 2001. But I do have a valid I 94, as well as visa paper and never have been out of status. But the current expired visa stamp is from my earlier employer. I am planning to visit canada over one of the coming weekends(+monday), and get a new visa stamp there. This to avoid going to the consulate in India, in order to save the precious vacation time I am planning to take in June.

Can you Guru\'s please guide me as to how risky or easy is this. Also, what all documents do I need to take along. I know that I need to take an appointment at the toronto consulate.
Greatly appreciate any help..

-Thanks..

H1 to H1 is no risk...

treat this as a new visa stamping. LCA, I129, Paystubs, IT return, Letter from Employer are all required.

take all documents

Take all documents with you.
1. I797
2. I94
3. Letter from your company stating designation, job description & salary + your company specifying that they need you( if possible)
4. Bank statement having good funds in it.
5. Your LCA file by your company.

& ofcourse your passport.

Post your experience after your stamping.

All the best.
