Can you have 2 different lawyers for I-140 and I-485? Different G-28's?

My employer's lawyer will be filing my I-140 within the next week or so. A G-28 signed by me will be submitted as part of this application. I am thinking of filing my I-485 shortly after the I-140 receipt has been obtained USING ANOTHER LAWYER.

I'm doing this because my employer wants to wait until January before filing the I-485. I already have a signed/notarized employment letter and want to file the I-485 ASAP. Can I have the new lawyer submit another G-28 signed by me together with the I-485 application?

In other words, can 2 different lawyers represent me concurrently - one for the I-140 another for the I-485? Will my employer's lawyer have any way of knowing that I filed the I-485 with another lawyer?

Please help...Thanks!
