Can TN Holder on EAD travel back and forth to Canada?

I am planning to apply for GC under EB2 in the middle of this year and just wondering that if I managed to get my EAD some time early next year, would I be able to travel to Canada on that? Also, between the time when I concurrently apply for I-140 and I-485 and getting the EAD approved, is it advisable to travel to Canada? MY TN renewal is in the month of Sept '09 i.e. approx 3 months after initiating the perm process.

You cannot leave the US without AP in hand.

Just to clarify, you cannot return to US without the AP in hand.

Furthermore, your pending I-485 would be considered cancelled, as would the EAD, and re-entry would only occur after getting H1.

So, while you can leave US, you'd be crazy to do so.

It was just mentioned as long as you have the AP you can travel. EAD is only for work, AP is the travel document...
