My I-140/I-485 were concurrently filed in Late Sept-03. I do have a EAD, and my I-140 is still pending, and 180 day period is obviously not over.
Can another company file a new I-140 and maybe I-485 fo me so I can change employers before 180 days/approved I-140?
Sure some time will be lost, but that might be an acceptable trade-off for me.

---- Maintain H1 status till you don’t get I-140 approved

------- You can have many LC filed for you are I-140 filed for you. I am sorry I did not understand you question, to change job to use AC21 you need I-140 approved AND I-485 pending more than 180 days and same/similar job

** if I am in your situation I will wait for the I-140 to be approved as your employer filed I-140 and I-485 in September 2003 and you may get your I-140 approved in 4-5 months( depends on service center), once I-140 gets approved then I may change the employer if I have to and will find same/similar job and use AC21.

For filing new 140 you would need new labor by the new employer- so if you want to go thru that all over again- you sure can.
