Can jilted lovers/others disrupt the K1 application?

My situation is getting more complicated by the minute. We are both in the process of getting divorced in order to marry each other. She was my girlfriend 22 years ago but recently realized we'd wasted our lives with the wrong people.

Obviously the exes are pissed. Her ex-husband plans to file a complaint with the US consulate in her home country to say that it is a fake union/marriage. Does this have any affect on my future K1 application? Surely the consulate must get letters from exes claiming this all the time.

I'm the US citizen, they don't listen to just any Tom Dick and Harry who wants to disrupt the process right? Is there anything my attorney could include in the K1 application to notify the USCIS of possible disuptions by third parties?

Thank you.

If you have an attorney working on this, why are you wasting time on a forum? Your attorney has the best advice for you. If you don't trust your attorney, get a new one.

Well your smartass answer is as useful as tits on a bull. If you bother to read properly you will see that I am currently going through my divorce, which means that I haven't filed for the K1, which means that there is not attorney working on it yet. But I will use an attorney and I wanted to know if the complaint would pose any possible problems and if so, would the attorney who will be handling my case be able to negate its effects.

The answer depends on which consulate we are talking about. In countries where visa fraud is rampant, the US consulate may lend an ear to local jitter just to ensure that they do not issue a visa to someone who is not a genuine beneficiary.
