Hi

I am on H4 visa. Recently we applied for GC. I have the following questions

1.Can i work for a company as intern without pay while on H4 visa? Is it going to create a problem for company or me in the future?
2.Can i work for a company in India remotely while on H4 visa? Company pays the salary in India. Can I use that experience?

thanks

A H-4 visa holder is not allowed to work. A training or internship should not be viewed as some form of employment. On the other hand, it is prudent not to use experience gained while working on H-4 for a remote (out of U.S.) location.

If you have only H4, technically it is not legal to work in US even if it is VOLUNTEER job.

They presume that some one who takes volunteer's job will require reference for further employment in US, and US citizen could use the same way to get experience and reference but not foreigner.

You can only go to college to study something without work practice and internship.

For example internship in University is not allowed for H4 holder.

No, you can't work, even without pay. The rule is that you can't do anything a US citizen might be paid for. So even work you volunteer for is not allowed.

Very true.
People needs to think why all the country in this world requires foreigners to have work permit when they work on their soil.
