Can I use EAD (I485 based) renewal receipt work for for the same employer?

My old EAD card has expired, and a new EAD card is in processing. Can I work with the EAD renewal receipt in my current company during the new ead card processing? Or can I write to USCIS to ask for accelerating my EAD processing at CSC? I have already been waiting for almost two months (receipt date is July 7th).

Thanks a lot! So sad news to me, I cannot work for at least one month...

Do you think "240 day rule" can help my situation? If my employer can follow "240 day rule", can I use my EAD renewal receipt to work?

I am not primary I485 applicant. My EAD is based on my huzband's NIW-based I485 application. Even there is gap between my old EAD's expired date and my new EAD's valid start date, I don't think it will cause any trouble to my I485 application because only employment RFE issued to primary applicant. Am I right?
