Can I travel with AP while maintaining H1 status?

I filed my I485 3 months ago and got my AP yesterday. But my company refused to apply EAD for me. They said I can travel with AP and work with my H-1b. This does not make any sense to me and my friends told me if I use AP I will automatically lose my H-1b status and become a parolee.
Does anyone has same experience? Can I travel with AP without EAD?

hi,
first of all u dont need Ap if u have a valid H1.
U can travel with yr H1&485 orginal recepit.
If u dont have valid H1 then u need AP
For working if yr H1 is valid u dont need EAD
but during yr 485 stage,if if it expires,then u go for EAD,
i think it clears yr doubts,

AP is a travel document , it has no relation with EAD. If your stamped H1 on passport is still vaild and you are with the company who's name is there on H1 stamp you do't need the AP. Only if you or on a Transferd H1 and is the stamp on passport is old or expired you will need AP or new H1 stamp. Geting new H1 stamp these are tricky so better to use AP on way back.

If you still have time in your 6 yrs of h1 then it is not required that you have a current valid h1 stamp in the passport. An old expired stamp and a new I797 approval is enough for you to enter US.

They are absolutely right that h1 holders have the option of using H1 or AP- as you wish.

Jaxen I don't think you can just enter by showing H1 approval notice and old expired visa. I think either you need visa stamp
or Advance parole to enter.

Can you enter with Advance parole and H1 approval notice ? I don't know.

see the archives, read up AC21 . If you have a different intrepretation that is fine.
Please dont ask people to show h1 and AP together.
I am not going to be drawn into another Yes/No confrontation with you.
