Travel after interview is ok as long as its not for too long. (2 month trip is ok, but you risk receiving oath letter when you're gone).

thank you for the response. I have a lawyer helping me with this case and he will receive a copy of the oath letter. If I get my oath letter when I am still on travel, can I request this to be postponed to date after I return. Also this is in fed plaza new york. Did anyone have any luck requesting for oath the same day and getting it done?

You will not surrender your green card at the interview, instead you will have to surrender at the Oath ceremony.
Yes, you can travel after the interview and you need to fill in a form with your recent travel dates at the oath.
If you don't get same day oath, you can tell IO that you are going on a 2 month trip and want to schedule your oath after the date of your return.
I am not familiar with NYC oath process like whether they have same day oath or how long it takes to get Oath letter from the date of interview.

Just a heads up - IF your planned trip is an international trip, if your do get a same day oath, you will need to make adequate plans to ensure you receive your US passport before you leave for your trip.
