Can I sponsor my parents for visiting USA when HI Visa is expiring but EAD is good through October,2

Hello ,

My H1 Visa is expiring in May 2002. Notice date for I-485 is Sep 20,2001.
Finger printing was done on December 18th,2001. I have an EAD which will expire in October 2002. I want to sponsor my parents for a visit for 2-3 months (May - July 2002). Is it possible ?

Just EAD+485 receipt is not enough

Though I think EAD+485 Reciepts should be enuf, but I was turned down by officer at mumbai conculate recently. My H1-extension was applied (but was not approved) that time and as a proof I also attached H1-extension receipt but they asked for either a valid H1 in passport or a valid H1 approval notice. My folks will be going to consulate next week again with H1 approval notice this time. Hope they will get it this time.

I think the best bet for you would be to apply for visitors visa before May 2002 with copies of your EAD/485 receipts attached supporting your stay validity beyond May 2002. You will be fine..
