Hi all,
I am eligible to file for my N-400 after 11/15/2010. However, I am currently overseas for work and is scheduled to be back to the US on 12/15/10, can I send my application while I'm abroad?

This also brings to the question of the info on the page 4 of N-400,
Part 7. Time outside the US, for this trip, I left on 9/6/2010 and will be back on 12/15/2010, can I fill in 12/15/2010 as the date I will return since this is a future date?

I am hoping to send my application soon so hopefully I can have my interview before Mar. since I might be going for another overseas project for work after March.

Thank you in advance for any inputs.

Yes you can send it while abroad. Leave the end date blank for your current trip, then update the end date at the interview. Or write in the future date, then update it at the interview if you return earlier or later. Note that the end date should be when you arrive in the US, not your departure date from the foreign country which could be 1 or 2 days before the US arrival date.

However, you might have bigger problems if you have been working abroad for extended periods (more than the 3-month trip you just mentioned) without an N-470.

Thank you for your comment. The longest I have ever been aboard after getting my GC is going to be this trip for work, so just a bit over 3 months, so I should be just fine, I assume.

Thanks.
