can I request oath date at interview?

Hi friends,

My naturalization interview is in a few days. After that I have plans to go abroad for three weeks during the December holidays. Needless to say I don't want to miss the oath while I'm gone, or cause delays by rescheduling the oath. So I wanna know, is it possible at my interview to request when I'd like to have the oath? I would prefer January. If it's not possible, is it really true that rescheduling causes significant delays?

No it's not true, and I would explain your plans to the IO, I'd expect a happy result.

You can put in a request at the interview. Just tell IO to put note in your file requesting for oath to be after you come back.
