I used to live in Michigan when I had filed myself and my wife's 485. We have moved to TX two years back. My case got approved 3 years back.
Can I request NSC to transfer my wife's pending 485 case to TSC? What's the procedure? Will it happen smoothly? My concern is they shouldn't say later they had lost the case while transferring from there to here.

----------------USCIS has its own criteria to transfer the files. They are not going to tranfer the file if you make request.
My concern is they shouldn't say later they had lost the case while transferring from there to here.

thanks ginnu.
Is it possible in my wife's case?
------ USCIS file transfer criteria is for all. Why do you expect they will change the file transfer criteria for your wife?
Do you have any idea?
------I dont have any idea.
When I had visited local Dallas office, the officer mentioned that you can write NSC to transfer the case to TSC. Thanks.
---nothing wrong if your wife writes to them and letter should be from your wife with her signature.
--------------------------------- I dont know who met you at Dallas office window and at window many are not officers. You are posting for file transfer and documents for Cross chargeability. I think you need a good lawyer. You never posted that you contacted your congressman office or your senator office and what they did and what info you got through them.

Thanks. I never made any request to congressman or senator. There are couple of counters at Dallas immigration office. I just met one of them. He only said someone worked on my wife's case on 10th, but no LUD or status message change. I think as usual they hold the case forever.

---Why? let your wife go to congressman or senator local office. write in details what is the problem, attach copy of her I-485 filing reciept and DOB. explain on cover letter the problem , write her name, DOB,Her A#, I-485 reciept number, address and she need to sign the letter. She may have also to sign form with then so that they can find out what is the problem with your case and why the case is not approved. With congressman or senator enquiry USCIS has to take action on her file. Provide the evidence for base of cross changeability in her case. go to congressman and senator local office and let them find out the details

Contact the local office of YOUR congressman or senator office. you can search your congressman or senator with your home address zipcode. you dont have to contact congressman or senator in NSC area, you have to contact who serve your home address area.

1 Contact your congressman
AND
2 Contact your Senator Office
And
3. Write to CIS Ombudsman

http://www.dhs.gov/files/programs/editorial_0497.shtm\

Submit a case problem using DHS Form 7001 and send it to CIS Ombudsman .

** do all the above 3.

Sorry to bother you. When I had searched local congressman at http://www.contactingthecongress.org it gives 2 senators and 1 rep. So, rep. is the congressman? Can I contact anyone or all 3 of 'em? Do I have to call them? or Contact online?

Residents of the 75063-4145 ZIP code are represented in Congress by 2 Senators and 1 Representative.
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R- TX)
Senator John Cornyn (R- TX)
Representative Kenny Marchant (R - 24)

Why transfer the case? Transferring adds delays. You need to concentrate on getting this long-pending case approved, not transferred.

Thank you. As ginnu mentioned I will try to contact senator, congressman and CIS.

Can anyone tell what am I supposed to check for the question 10 in DHS-7001 form?
"Immigration status or interim benefit applied or petitioned for:"

10. Immigration status or interim benefit Applied or Petitioned for: Provide information about the immigration status or the immigration benefit the person of the case problem is seeking (non-immigrant, immigrant, citizenship, naturalization, refugee or asylum status, work authorization, travel document, etc.
-----I think it should be 10) B. IV. as your wife applied for immigrant. then explain the her Derivative I-485 is filed and pending with NSC. her Name,DOB, A#,I-485 reciept number.
------Now you have to do your own research and find the answer or cantact good lawyer to do the service for you. 3-4 years you have been waiting and did not contact the congressman/Senator or CIS.

Good Luck!!

thanks ginnu. I don't want to spend for lawyer expenses anymore. I already did enough. I will send the form to CIS Obdusman. Do you know how long will he take to reply?
