Can I request change location for fingerprint?

Hi,

I live in Michigan. I have green card for more than 5 years and I am preparing to submit my N-400 application based on my address in Michigan.
Due to my work, I am going to work in Baltimore from mid-July for a year, and after that, I will move back to Michigan.

I wonder if I apply now and then receive a notice for fingerprint, can I change it to the office near Baltimore so that I don't have to travel all the way back to Michigan for fingerprint?

It depends on the DO. Either try doing a walk in or Infopass at Baltimore to determine if they are willing to accommodate you. Explain to them your situation.
 
Well, depending on your 'luck' USCIS can mess things up with your application.
I'd suggest - if that's possible in your case, - file N400, and travel back to Michigan for FP appointment.
After that you might change your address, depending which DO is faster.
 
If you are clearing out your house or apartment in Michigan and no longer receiving mail in Michigan, it is likely that USCIS will no longer consider you to be a resident of Michigan, and would treat you as a resident of the new state, requiring you to spend 3 months living in the new state to be eligible for naturalization.

I am going to keep my house in Michigan. I will rent an apartment in Baltimore.
