Can I make two Infopass appointments

If I select "You have received an approval letter or Form I-797C from the Service Center or local office instructing you to come into the office for alien identification card processing / passport stamp" I get the message that there is no information on appointments available.
But if I select "You wish to speak to an immigration officer" I am able to schedule an appointment some 2 weeks from now.

Do you think I should select "You wish to speak to an immigration officer" and make an appointment that way, do you think they will process my GC anyway? What if I make an appointment this way and 3 days from today the option for received approval letter starts working, can I setup another appointment again?

Alex

No. I think their system detects the computer from which you are signing up.
When I used the INFOPASS last year I could only book one appointment. I had to use different computers to book time slots for other family members.

That really sucks.

This is unbeliveable

I called USCIS customer service number to ask them what to do and they told me that the local office updates the system every day with their availability (but they don't know at what time, it can be any time) and that I should keep trying. So, the way she explained it to me it works like this: the local office updates their system some time today making 5 appointments available for May 4. Whoever are the first 5 lucky ones to check Infopass after this update gets an appointment and that is it for the day. Other people cannot make an appointment for May 5 until the local office updates the system again tomorrow. Again they can do it anytime during the day and again few lucky ones will get an appointment and the rest should keep fishing.
Are they nuts?
I have to sit by the computer all day long trying every minute and even then it may take me days to make an appointment.

I'm speechless.

Alex

From you nothing

Here is what I expect:

1. From USCIS I expect to be able to schedule an appointment, if it is two weeks from now then two weeks from now, if it is a month from now then a month from now. Just to schedule it whenever they have the first one available and not to sit by the computer every day checking every minute and hoping that I'll be among the lucky ones.

2. From people on this forum some usefull advice (as they have always been able to provide, thanks guys)

3. From you? Absolutely nothing, not even the stupid comment above.

Alex

Your attitude is nothing but pure whining and crying over something you don't have total control of even if you want to.
You need to grow up and start learning how to work with the system!

I find your concerns infantile and stupid too.

Right

Maybe you should make an appointment with some doctor to check up your logic.

If you read and tried to understand the problem that this situation poses you wouldn't have made the comment that you made, and you just rubbed me the wrong way at the wrong time. If you didn't read my other post let me sumarize it.

I've tried to schedule an appointment online for more than a week now at many different times during the day. Finally I got up this morning at 4:30AM with my wife and the baby (that we had no one to leave with) and went directly to the district office. After waiting in line until 7:00AM when they tolld me that I cannot go in without an appointment no matter what, and then after waiting some more to make the appointment while there, and then being told go home and do it on-line, and then comming home and again not being able to make an appointment on-line, you tell me to stop whining and learn how to work the system.

Tell me, Oh great Sage, how do you work the system if they post only a couple of appointments available at an unkown time during the day and if you miss it maybe for just a minute because you had to go to the rest room you lost the day (and you don't know it, you'll keep sitting and trying). And tomorrow again the same game.

Wake up, and don't try to be too smart and post something like your first comment before really understanding what was posted before!

Guys! Alex_e38 is going through rough times and he is seeking advice. That is why we are all here. If you cannot offer any helpful then plz don't blame him for being frustrated.

Alex_e38! You should try to schedule as many appoinments as possible. If they dont' care about you, don't care about their resources wasted. Don't worry about making more than one appointment if that is what it takes to get to the I/O to get stamp.

good luck

I had a problem to set appoitments for me and my husband. Was trying every hour like you guys. And very interesting, that in both cases I was able to get in at 7 PM PT, and 8 PM PT. Early mornings didn't work. Try these times tomorrow, maybe you will be lucky like I was. Good luck! :)

You were right Nana_S

I was checking the Infopass all day long every couple of minutes, nothing came up until 7PM when some available appointments showed for May 6 and May 6 only. I registered myself and then I tried to register for my wife (someone told me that we both can get in with only one appointment but I didn't want to risk it) and I couldn't do it, it said "You cannot make any more appointments". So I loged in remotely to my work and tried to registered it again but I provided the same telephone number and again it told me that I cannot make anymore appointments. Finally I went to the neighbor and asked him if I can use his Internet. This time I provided my wife's cell phone number instead of house number and it worked, I registered an appointment for her.
Just to see what will happen I checked the Infopass an hour later and, surely enough, it said that "there are no appointments available". I checked it this morning, again the same.

So it looks that the time frame when you can schedule an appointment for Miami district office is 7:00PM-8:00PM. Everything else is just a waste of tme.
Also, an answer to the main question in this topic is "No you cannot schedule two Infopass appointments"

Thanks Nana_S.

and maybe you can help me with the answer about following;

Alex, I'm very glad it worked for you this time.

It could be another topic, but I've read it before here and it it's not new one.

Yesterday I've got my temp. GC. It was a big surprise for me that I had an appoitment at 2:45 and at 3:11 I was driving home already (Seattle) :) :) :) . Never happened so fast and frendly like yesterday. My only concern is that when I asked about one year backdating for GC  , this lady said "No. You have to wait 4 years and 10 months before filing citizenship application" :( It was late last night to go and check this information on line  , but my understanding is that she is wrong ;) .

If you have any link regarding this, could you please post it?

Thanks in advance,

She was wrong. Asylees' green cards are backdated. She probably does not deal with asylees often enough to know about this quirk of the law.

Examine your card to see if you have an approval date somewhere on the the document. :) :)

She probably does not know that you are an asylee. Do not worry. We were all backdated. Mine was not and I had it fixed.

You were (and are) considered a special situation meriting high level attention, for obvious reasons.

On a temp. card I see the following stamp:

I-485 APPROVED APR 21 2005.
What I have to do to fix it without delay. I waited this day since 1990 and again a mess?

It is only backdated in the plastic card. Wait until you receive the plastic card and then take action.
