Can I get F1 Visa? H1 has expired.

I am currently doing masters. I was on H1 and filed for Green Card.

1. Now that I have shown intent to immigrate, can I switch to F1?

2. Has anyone done that before?

Please help as my 6 years of H1 have expired.

I do not want to abandon GC. I am thinking of a route to take in case my MTR to reinstate I-485 gets denied.

Please suggest an option.
 
with your explicit intention to immigrate, DOS/BCIS can find enough reason to deny the F1- I am afraid...

Hi Jaxen,


I have a related Question, if you get laid off while on H1b and your GC is at the i140 stage (concurrent filing and EAD pending)
what are the options? H1b transfer is an ideal solution but can you go back to F1 or not? Can you take back your i140 or 485 and remove the intent of immigration to go back on F1?
