Can i-30 be withdrawn after its been approved

its slippery slope

my friend was in your spot. he received his cond card. 6 months after that his wife filed and obtained divorce and wrote a letter to CIS that her ex married her for the green card and not true love. My friend received a Notice To Appear in Removal Proceedings about a month after that and his conditional resident status terminated by CIS. He immediately filed the I-751 waiver and appeared in front of IJ for past 1.5 years. IJ keep givig him dates every six months stating that he will wait for I-751 decision by CIS. When he was called for I-751 interview, he was informed that CIS had received a derogatory letter from ex spouse and no decision can me made at this time.

So, that is his story. Ex spouse could be very dangerous specially in conditional resident status. Conditional resident status is slippery slope. Be advised please.

You shall go to post office and have them hold the mail in your name and you shall the only be allowed to pick up. Otherwise, transfer to a post box number.

@Smali, Thanks for the advice, I will do that as soon as possible. If u take note of my reply time 3.12am.... she suddenly work me up from sleep around 250am saying all sort of stuffs and that i should give her a divorce and that if i don't she will call them tomorrow to tell them to revoke my status. She is really messing with my head and i don't know what to do. I can't really think straight and i am scared of what the outcome of her call might be. Are u sure i can do the post office thing. How much does it cost to get a post box number and will GC be delivered to post box.
I am really confused at this stage. what happened to your friend, was he latter approved or not.

You can definitely do a hold mail at the post office for a month. Since you had your interview on the 11th, expect your GC between 7 days to a 3 weeks.

@Thomas PSU.... ok i will do that today. but how do i get the mails. Do i have to go to the post when ever i want to get my mail???

Why are you scared? In the mother-of-all worst case scenarios, you still have a home country to go back to right? Don't tell me your wife will follow you there to give you more sleepless nights???

i am scared of what the outcome of her call might be.

Yes. Put a hold on all mail in your name and you can go there to pick it up. The alternative is what others suggested: forward mails to a P.O. box (where you can take the mails at a time of your choice.

But, remember that your spouse will still get the I-130 approval notice send in her name. So she will know the GC is on the way.

ok tripple citizen

You don't have to go to the post office to hold your mail, just go to their website and do it online, did mine just before I left for vacation, put a request on Monday for hold starting on Wednesday and was processed immediately and just went to the post office to pick-up all my mail when I came back. Mail holding will include your GC being held, so don't pick-up your mail for 3 weeks, because once you pick-up the mail, normal delivery of all mail will resume including all junk mail. So, if your card hasn't been mailed by then, putting another hold might be OK with the postman but also annoying.

Here is the simple step. www.usps.com

Under products and services, locate receiving mail and put mail on hold. Put in your zip code and another step requires you complete personal information. Once that is done, your mail will be held and you want to go and pick-up all accumulated mail, there's an option to have the mailman delivers, don't chose that option because if your wife is home, she might rip your nuts off to find that you held the greencard she feels she owns and it entitled to. Next time she wakes you up at 2:50am, ask her if she wants to give you morning glory bed dazzling...:)

@Al Southerner.... The post man told me that if i do the general delivery i can come pick up my mail anytime at the post office instead of waiting for a month if i was to put it on hold.
How long does it take to receive the GC.
Please advice.

Please visit US postal website, you get all options about holding mails. Meanwhile make friendship with your daily mail man and wish him good morning every day so that he will come to know you and gives all your home mails to you. Best of Luck

rijerita, That’s what exactly you should do.

If you do that I bet she wont leave you forever. From your past post it looks like you are not working currently, so you don’t even have to get up early at morning.

That’s it you can forget about your immigration problems then!

@Indian citizen, yes i don't work at present but i have been looking to getting a job. I hope it works out well.
I will try my best not to bother myself about immigration problem.
Thank you.

How long it takes for you to get a GC in the mail is a game of chicken. My GC was approved on Dec 7th, and mailed to me on the 18th and didn't get received till the 29 or 30th when I went to retrieve my mail. So, it depends on when it is send to you, anywhere from a week to 3-4 or even 6 weeks.

Just do what I suggested to you, the mailman you talked to is misleading you. I haven't never heard of something called general delivery, just hold your mail dude and pick-up after 3 weeks. I know your hands are hungry for the card, but think of how sad you will be when your wife receives it in the mail and punish you every night... Holding your mail is very simple and you should do as I suggested to minimise your pains..

@ Al SOUTHERNER.... I tried what u just said it it says its going to hold all mail. i only want mine to be held not all the mails to the address. pls advice.

Mail hold only is good for all mail to that particular address.

Forwarding mail is good for either a person or the entire family. It can be usually up to 6 months long for a temporary change. If you wish to change your date then you need to speak to the PO.

People do use "General Delivery" I remember hearing stories of people who were hiking for months, that had there mail sent General Delivery to a PO near the trail and would just go and pick it up. I also was told a story by a postmaster of a guy that was moving and didn't have an address yet, so he sent packages addressed general delivery to the town that he was moving to. The PO will hold it for up to 30 days.
