So with or without the condition written on your SS card you still hve to show the same documentation to start working.

Not really...without the restrictions, all u need is a driver's License(or state ID) in addition to the unrestricted social security card.

hi, Everyone
Thank you for all the information.
I actually found a super part time job, and all I need was the social. Strange right? They checked my driver's license and ask for the social that is it.
(haven't quite started yet, because I haven't received the actual EAD card yet)

I am bring another thread's question to here, to see if anyone here have any information about it.
I will be working as a part time employee, of course, wont' have any benefit or anything and the pay is super super little. But I found out besides the tax, we have to pay social security and medicare as well. It will take up more than 10% of the total paycheck. :(
Is that sounds right to everybody? We won't get it back like tax at the end of the tax year right?

That's correct.

Why would you expect to "get it back" - SS and Medicare are a flat tax (with no exemptions/deductions) on your first $95k or so of employment income. You will, however, start accumulating quarters of contribution. Once you hit 40 quarters you become eligible for SS & Medicare when you retire.

wow....thank you so much Therealcanadian.
It solved all my questions.
I am glade I asked and didnt' try to get it back.
The reason why I so curious about this, is because this is huge amount and I didnt' even know if I am qualified for benefit later on. If now, I know I will be qualified, feels better to pay for it now. hehehe...thank you so much.

sorry, question again ....so since there is a job waiting for me, and I already get EAD e-mail notice, can I start working there now before I receive my actually EAD card?

thank you thank you :D
