Call Customer Service for Interview Date

I received the text message that my interview letter has been sent late last week. Looking at other's schedules, it would appear that most of these interviews occur in about a month. As it happens, there is conference I'd like to go to out of state in about a month. Has anyone ever tried calling USCIS customer service to find out when their interview has been scheduled? Is it even worth trying?

Call customer service and request to speak with level 2 (IO) support.The IO will be able to tell you your interview date in the system since letter was already sent.
