I need a little help in filling out my N400 please. There is a particular trip to India I need help with . I left the US on 12/8/2007
(landed in India on this date) and was back in the US on 06/06/2008 (landed in US on this date) .When I calculate , the no. of days adds up to 180days, but it is actually only 5 months and 29 days .Should I tick YEs or No for trip 6 months or more? Please advise .Thank you

Obviously NO. Why would you? Too many people here trying to be "too honest", answer your questions accurately but don't be "too honest" or too forthcoming thinking they will think "oh he's such a great guy he even erred on the side of putting himself at an advantage." Because this is not some character interview here. It is a straight factual analysis to see if you met the residency requirement. Never ever, put something on a form that disadvantages you no matter how little just to show you are a nice guy. Never ever answer beyond what exactly is asked to show you are a nice guy. If they need more information they will ask. This is not India where you need to suck up to the officials. They will not treat you any better because you sucked up. Just go by the facts and please remember to do this in any interaction with law enforcement in the US.

In no world is 180 days = 6 months. 6 months is 182.5 days at a minimum.

It's not 6 months and anyway you need to disclose the dates of your trip anyway. Let them do the math. If they ask you, then you explain that 6 months is 182.5 or 183 days in a leap year. You disclosed the dates anyway. You were not trying to hide anything.

1- Question is is the rule say 180 Days or Six month ?
2- If You land on 12/8 it mean most probably you Left USA on 12/6

Good catch. One is supposed to write the date of departure from the USA, not the date of arrival in the other country.

In that case, will the day of departure count as a full day in the US or a half day?

You have to write the actual date of departure in the boxes where it asks to list the trips, but when counting the number of days for each trip the departure date and return date both should be treated as full days within the US so you only count the days between those endpoints.

In the instructions, it says partial days in US should not be counted in the trip. Basically, if you left the US on 12/6 and returned on 6/6, start counting day 1 from 12/7 and 6/5 would be the last day you count.

I have a question, just so I'm sure. 5 years, including the leap year that is inevitably one of them, equals 1826 days, right? So, at least 913 days in the US are required to satisfy the physical presence requirement?
