Birth Certificate

I am posting this question on behalf of one of my friend who does haven't yet got enough authorities to post his questions.
His birth was never registered with local government, so he can't get a BC from govt. officials. However US embassy website says that he can get an affidavit from one of his parents and document from govt. authority confirming that the birth certificate does not exist. My friend has done both of these things and he wants to know if there is anything else he needs to have. Anybody else here had to go thru similar experience?
Thanks in advance for your comments.

This is a very common issue, particularly for those born before 1975 in India. From what you said, your friend has done what needs to be done.

While one affidavit should work, it doesn't hurt to carry one more affidavit
from the other parent or an elderly relative.

In my case I carried the NAC + 2 affidavits.

Hello

This post is a query regarding birth not being registered

My birth was not registrered and I have to get affidavits and Non-Availability or No Records letter from Municipalituy.

I want to know whether
1. The affidavits need to be executed in city of BIRTH (Udupi, Karnataka) or I can execute it in current city of residence (Bangalore, Karnataka)?

2. Should the affidavits be executed in front of a first class magistrate as mentioned on the consular website or a notary stamp is enough ?

3. My DOB is 12-Apr-1976 - Should I get a court order to get my birth officially registered OR the NABC + 10th Certificate + Affidavit is enough. I am asking this question because I think there is a Govt order that all births have to be registered after 1970.

Please let me know if there were any other issues while submitting these type of docs at the consulate.

Thanks for your help - it will be greatly appreciated.

BC requirement.

Abdul,

Indian consulate in US will be able to issue a birth certificate based on your passport if you are here in US and it is widely accepted by INS.

Please check the website for more information.
