Birth certificate for GC

hello,
My wife's birth certificate has a discrepancy in the date, compared to her passport, degree certificate etc. It has a difference of one day. Will it be a problem?
If I choose not to use that certificate, what are my options? Can i go the affdavit route? What are the documents needed in that case?
Anyone with such an experince, please help.

1 get the date corrected on BC
OR
Get non-availability certificate and 2 affidavits from parents/relatives on 10 Rupees stamp paper and signed by notary
 
what is a non-availability certificate, can you throw some light on that.
I mean the expected format and who should sign it.

Since you already have a birth certificate, you cannot get a non-availability certificate( which basically says that there is no record of registered birth). You need to get the passport corrected with the date matching BC.
