birth certificate confusion..

I had a name change a few years ago, and when I went to request my birth certificate they gave me the one with my new name on it..

should ur birth certificate be with the old name?

and must birth certificates always be original or can it be a certified copy? if so, do certified copies look like the original one always or do they look different?

do they only accept birth certifictes with both ur parents name on it or is ur name and date of birth all that's required?

I am pretty surprised that your BC does not have the names of your parents. However if that is the standard format of BCs issued at your place of birth, then I guess it will do.

thanks... u think and immi lawyer would know the real answer to this question or can only a uscis officer determine that?
i'd also like to hear opinions from vets like praetorian etc! ;-)

of course! and i appreciate and value triple_citizen's opinion...

my mistake for letting it come out wrong.. let me reword my question,

do "more vets" or people that have more info on this have any opinions on this?

I ain't no vet but I found this on immihelp.com, it lists some requirements but was not able to verify this with official information on the USCIS webpage.
