I and my wife have already filed for I485 so we will be answering yes to question 36. Next time we go for H1/H4 stamping and if the consulate officer asks the question ..

do you want to settle in usa?

What should be the best answer to that question to clear the interview?

You can tell the Consulate officer that you will stay in the US as long as your employers wants you there.
 
Also I joined this company since last 6 months only after my labor was approved. In case if they ask why did company did all these favors for me then what should be answer?In other words why did this company decide to do my GC at the first place as a future employee?

Tell them that you are there for a project and will be there for X years. The no. of years must be mentioned on your approval notice or Forms that your employer filed with the USCIS.

Don't mention about anything else unless they ask.
 
That you are skilled and the company sees a benefit hiring you ??

I don't think they can ask you this question - your answer is more like a best guess/opinion .... IMO, they should ask this question directly to the company.

You can also politely tell them that you wouldn't know what the company thinks !

Yeah - for the other question about settling in the US, you should truthfully say YES (when my 485 gets approved). After all H1 honors dual intent and as such a H1 visa CANNOT be denied for expressing immigrant intent.
You don't have to hide anything or be worried - the consulate CANNOT deny you for having a immigrant intent - period.
 
Thanks to the blessings of all mighty God, my wife got his H4 visa. Consulate officer didn't ask any specific questions about our pending GC.My sincere thanks to all the members of this forum here who guided me in this. Also for others who are worried about whether you need principal applicant's h1 visa stamp for getting H4 visa or not here is a good news.. My wife got his H4 without H1 in my passport. My passport still reflects visa from my old company which is going to expire in few days.
