Hello everybody,
Today at 10:30 am, I became US citizen. There were 1462 applicants from 90 countries who took oath. Top 3 were China (269) Mexico (241) and Philippines (204). I was among the 76 from India. People were coming even after 9:30. There was not enough parking available for those who came late (I was one of them) (after 8:30). Luckily I found parking space right in front of auditorium, and that too free .
We sang Star Spangled Banner, took oath of allegiance, became PROUD US citizen. At the end they distributed Natz certificates. While entering they took our Oath letter and green card (felt little bad when giving away my GC, having it for last 5 years, going through all the paper work and ....).
Ceremony lasted for about 1.5 hrs. We're done by 11.
Going to apply for passport tomorrow and them OCI.
Thanks to this forum for giving helpful information and guidance.
