Hello people.
I was trying to find some related info on the forum, but didn't see anything like this...

So the question is about bank statement. I'm gonna have the interview in the beginning of May, and I have all the documents ready but bank statement. I have got all the money but never had a bank account, in my country it is simply not convenient to keep money in the bank. I'm going to open a bank account tomorrow and put the money on it. You think it can be a problem? I mean Do they ask in the embassy when the bank account was opened or do they look at the money flow on it?

Thank you so much in advance!

Some people were not asked about it at all, my friend was asked about it and where the money came from....it all depends on who is the employee and what does he want to know.

I would like people who submitted bank statements during their interviews to share their experiences with this regard.
I see that most ppl used affidavit of support and im curious to know what questions were asked about the availability of assets and cash, specially for families.

Thank you all.

@besho yes i agree with you in total............those with experiences should share it!!!!

Why it isn't safe to keep money stored in Moldova ( Romania )? I have never heard anything about problems with Romanian banking, all I know is that after the cold war everything became unstable and local money went low in foreign markets.

I think there are no problems keeping money in Romanian banks, but in Moldova things are not that good.
First of all some of the banks belong to people from government (Ex-President, ...) and as we know these people can can come and go, so once they are out new government can start investigating some illegal activities of these people, that can hurt money holders. Also around a year ago 1 big bank went bankrupt, and money holders got in trouble, they couldn't get their money back. So looking at the things like that you come to the idea that the best place to keep your money safe is your own home.
Again, it's just my point, which hopefully won't become a problem in getting a GC.

BTW, I forgot to ask, is it alright to bring to the embassy only the paper that proves that you have $xxxxx on your account. Or they want to see the actual money flow (transactions) within the account?

thanks!

They may like to see the transactions in order to check if you have made a large deposit close to your visa interview.
