Baltimore visit, frustrated

Went to Baltimore on September 3rd to check if there are any news about the interview.

Case was transferred from VSC on May 17 "to speed processing" (what an irony!).
Case was received by BINS on May 25.

Appalachian-looking lady informed me that the case is still in the "box" and she could not tell me when it would be scheduled for interview. She told me that they have finished scheduling cases for interview up to October 10, so my interview will be some time after that. She told me that I should hear from them in another 60 to 90 days (standard answer, I guess). I asked her why some people who were transferred about the same time or at a later date already had their interview scheduled -- standard answer: "each case is individual."

I need to tell you that it first when I told her my TD, she answered me "let me see what is your interview date" and she looked a bit surprised when she looked at computer screen to find out that no interview was scheduled yet. That made me believe that many people with my TD got their interview scheduled already.

She also told me that all the cases that were transferred will get interviews. She also insisted that if the case is transferred, it means that there is something wrong with the papers and this is the only reason why it is in Baltimore. I guess they are looking really hard trying to find "what is wrong" with each case.

Anyway, INS nightmare continues....

I posted my family situation before that four of our family members applied I-485 together. Two of them were transferred on May 18 to Baltimore(mine, primary and my daughter\'s). I got my interview notice scheduled on Aug. 29 and I have not got any information about my daughter\'s interview and other two application situations. Yesterday I received a copy of a letter to INS Baltimore, in which my lawyer requested them to schedule our interviews together. Is this will delay my interview if they reschedule the interviews for all of us together, because other two files are not transferred to Baltimore yet? What can I do if I like to keep the original scheduled time? It will be greatly appreciated if someone can provide suggestions.

lwei_chen,

When I visited BINS last week,I saw one couple who requested to talk to superviser regarding their interview date, although I could not hear the details, I saw an AA man who came out and talked to them nicely for some time, listened to their story, and gave them some papers, after that the couple went away with a big smile. Why don\'t you try to go to BINS and talk to them, tell that you have some sort of special curcumstances why do you want to have your interview at an early date (as in your notice) and that you would come back for another interview with your family some time later when they will get their papers.

Thanks for your information. My lawyer already contacted with BINS and sent a letter to them requiring the same time interview for all of my family last week. I don\'t know what will happen and I hope they can keep my interview time. My company wasted lot of my time at the beginning for preparing application papers and I already lost my patience.

Is your PD current? Before it become current they won\'t schedule interview. Also if PD is current then they look at ND to schedule interview (not TD).

Hi Bajrang,
Did I hear you say that Baltimore looks at ND for interview and not TD? Where did you hear this?
I am curious to know since my case was entered into the system 2 months after they rcvd it at Bltmore.

Regards,

Bajrang: Everybody\'s PD is current. Form the list it looks like the interview schedule is haphazard and not by ND

That\'s right, everyone\'s PD is current. But even PD is current older PD case will get first preference. I think similar senario for ND (in same EB category). I read this on this site (I think user name was somthing like kannanch...) and similar happened to me and four other friends of mine. E.g. if VSC is processing 485 for date 10/01/00 and if your ND is 01/01/01 then I don\'t think you will get interview notice.

I think you are right as the ones with the older PDs seem to be getting their interview given the ND, TD being the same. Can you post the link where you saw it

OS: What was your PD? According to Bajrang the older PDs are called earlier than the later ones regardless of their ND
