Here is my N-400 interview experience at Albany,NY DO.
Interview appointment was at 11:00 AM and I arrived at the DO at around 10:35 AM. I was called in at 11:45 AM.
The IO asked me to rise my right hand and swear to tell the truth.All information on the application was verified and then came the civics test.
Here are the questions asked(If someone cares
)
1.How many stars on the flag?
2.Name of the ship that brought pilgrims?
3.First president of the the United States?
4.Major political parties in the US?
5.Official name of the President's residence?
6.Executive branch of the government?
Got them all right.
I was asked to write the following sentences:
1. I went to the post office today.
2. You cook very good.
The IO asked me to print my name on the photographs. While I was printing my name the IO was busy marking something on the application. I was done printing my name give the photographs back and the IO told me "What did you do? You are supposed to print your name along the side of the photograph vertically" I had printed my name along the bottom of the photograph horizontally. The IO asked me to get new photographs and was also kind enough to direct me to the nearest studio where I can get the photographs.There was a big smile on the IO face as we walked towards the door and told the security to let me in straight when I return with the photos.
I drove for about 10 minutes found a studio and returned with the photographs. Walked straight to the IO and handed over the photos. I printed my name again(this time I got it right). I was given the approval letter and also the oath letter(just the oath letter and not the oath itself) for taking the oath on 01/26/07.
I was out of the DO and all this took about 50 minutes(including me driving to the studio for the photographs).
Good luck to you all.
