bad time has passed!

Does any anybody know how to convert the WAC number into real date?

My understanding is that the bad time has passed, based on the reality that Nov. 2001 is the most crowd month. there are lots of holidays in Dec and Jan. And after Jan, 2002, 485 filers are much less due to the Labor certificate and 140 throttler happened after May, 2001.

And the war is over, terror alert is low, INC is picking up. You will see the 2002 cases will be processed in a double or triple speed than that of Nov. 2001.

Keep up your hope.

Just my 2 cents.

No, bad times have not passed yet.

Around 50% of November cases are NOT EVEN ASSIGNED.
It will take one more year to approve them with the current rate.

Stain is right. I might reword your statement ... times aren't as bad as they used to be .. for now .. but are still pretty bad.

Worst time is not here yet. Labor Certificate denial is first, then they will do something about EB based AOS. Sorry to discourage all of you, I will take the blames.

I have almost lost all of my hope. I have never been in such a bad mood. It seems everything is running against my luck in the whole process.

140 takes 4 months to get the receipt date. Medical exam take a month due to the doctors' fucked up X ray report. 485 is stuck for a year and a half. First FP expired already, Med Exam is going to soon. Shit.

I have to f*ck three times altogether in one night to light up my mood.

3 times in one night????

you must be double dosing on viagra.....i couldn't do that since my early 20's!!!

I will tell you what would be absolutely worse scenario although very possible and sooner than you might think...

That would be a Labor Certificate EXPIRATION policy.
They might itroduce LC expiration just like we have for FP and EAD. And that would be a real end of the story.

Hope BCIS insiders don't read this ;)

Some cases remain untouched, but whole trend is moving forward.

I bet next Jit will have a new date on EB i485.

You are a fresh new comer in the long line of waiting for 485 approval. When you wait for it as long as mine. You will become even more pessimistic. Such thoughts as to quick 485 approval seems very very naive.

yes, bad times are not over yet. Considering "normal" processing rate as of July-August 2002, we have to observe about 500 approvals per week (100 per day) in kashmir's data. And that means only keeping backlog steady or little decreasing. Otherwise, employment 485 can reach the same waiting terms as visas in some family categories, which are 5-8 years.

Actually I have been following LCA, 140, and i485 since May, 2001. Right now, on the spirit of "silent member become active", and start pumping some hope to this board.

I am a Aug. 02 filer, and have more rights to be frustrated and angry. But the fact is: Anger and frustration just do not help.

ND022202, I think that is exactly what will happen, Employment will reach 5-8 years. You said 100 per day, how many are we seeing in kashmir's list at an average these days?

:D :D :D

5-8 years includes LC (if approvable, for case out side of an industry with no layoffs) + concurrent 140/485.

This is certainly a sure thing.

485 alone will reach 2-3 years. LC 2-4 years is very likely for approvable cases. If you works in hi-tech, do not ever dream of it. Immigrate to Canada asap.

My gut feeling is Canada is shutting the door pretty soon. Or maybe they've already done that.

If I can not get US GC, it will be too late for me to apply Canada GC. In that case, I am ready to go back home.

state of nirvana..

BCIS changes life. As Lord Krishna said in Geeta, I have reached a state where I neither feel pain nor happiness. Wow! BCIS is really doing a great service, come to think of it.

Much before that in Gita Krishna said
"Perform action without attachment"

So Vats file 485 (action) and forget approval (attachment)
