How about a common Expedite Request to VSC

Does anyone thing that would be effective ?

An expedite request , from a whole bunch of 2002 I-485 filers ?

Just one fax..containing all the receipt #'s ?

Asking VSC to expedite each one, for reasons that its high-time
and so so late ?

And signed by each one of the applicants ?

I am open for it. I am thinking of email and fax campaign to immigration sub committee. Let us work on the draft. After campaign may be in the name of immigrationportal.org, we can take an appointment and meet some of them.

The following are the members of the committee:

Republican

Saxby Chambliss, GA (Chairman)
Charles E. Grassley, IA
Jon Kyl, AZ
Mike DeWine, OH
Jeff Sessions, AL
Larry Craig, ID
John Cornyn, TX

Democratic
Edward M. Kennedy, MA (Ranking Democrat)
Patrick J. Leahy, VT
Dianne Feinstein, CA
Charles E. Schumer, NY
Richard J. Durbin, IL
John Edwards, NC

thanks,

transfers

Dear forum members,
While you are at it, can you also pleeease mention the expediting of transfer cases like mine as well? Cases filed almost a year after ours are getting approved while we dont know whats happening to our files.
Thank you,
fams

Look at CSC guys. Why do you think its going like a bullet train, I believe one reason sure is the fax/townhall meetings campaings by CSC members. Dont hesitate to contact your senators. Put some pressure.

It may work for you.

Happy Holidays..

I agree with you rk4gc.

Some how there was never any sustained campaign in VSC. Like California, NJ, NY ,CT and MA has good number of Congresspersons sympathetic to immigrants.

thanks,
rajum

The californians did a sustained campaign, they attended town hall meetings, contacted senators and what not. How do people in east coast attend such meetings? The awareness of slow processing at VSC, NSC and TSC needs to be highlighted.

If California can do it, why cant other service centers? Only few months ago, california was processing Jan 2002 and now they are doing Feb 2004. The VSC and other service centers should take a leaf from the CSC before it is too late and the visa numbers run out.

Hi

Count me in
My receipt date is December 16 2002

I dont know even i contacted the senator and there is no use.

Thanks
Raju

rajum and dsatish,
Any developments on this front ?

We cannot measure the impact.

Planning for another round of email campaign with Immigration Sub Committee.

thanks,

What about Signed Petition to VSC Director with CC to Imm SubCommittee

Rajum,

Why not send a signed ( the more the signatures the better ) petition /
memorandun asking for immediate handling of old ( 2001 and 2002 )
cases to VSC Director and CC to Immigration SubCommittee ?

That way Congressmen know we have asked VSC Director and VSC
Director knows a helluva lot of Congressmen are in the loop with
a significant bunch of affected I-485 anguished applicants.

Nothing can probably be more effective.

And we can then take the next step of asking the Congressmen to
arrange for us to meet VSC Director in person; believe me, if our numbers
are significant, such a request would be impossible to deny.

Mine tooo

I140 Recipt Date: October 2003
I485 Receipt Date : December 2003
