Back Taxes/Credit Score in Canada Reasons for Denial?

Hi All,

I am a US citizen and my Canadian spouse is thinking of applying for her green card through me. Thing is, her credit score in Canada is not great, and she's neglected to file tax returns for the last few years. We want to know if we should fix these things up before applying. Are they the sorts of things that immigration will be looking at? Otherwise, no criminal record, financially stable and educated, no credit/tax issues here in the US, been living here together for 2.5 years...

Thanks!

Neither should be a problem. If she hasn't resided in Canada there's no need for her to file a tax return, save her exit return the year she left.

Canada, like any sensible country, taxes on residency not citizenship. I moved out of Canada in 2003 and that was the last year for which I filed a return. If she has no financial ties with Canada, she has no need to file any Canadian (federal or provincial) tax return.
