I have a question: when we presents all passports for whole family, the immigration
scanned and stamped each and every passport just like that but only for my passport
he did some thing additional. He apparently typed something into computer and seemed
to want to verify something. I wonder why he only did that to me.

New biometric US passports have very crappy quality, and sometimes the MRZ is so skewed that it cannot be read by scanner. Then, they have to type the number of passport manually.

Yeah, I've noticed the bio page on the new passports doesn't look as it did on the older ones. My mom's passport had the plastic coating sticking out a bit on 2 sides because it wasn't cut properly. We've all discussed the crappy photo quality, and some covers are cut badly too, so I guess since we have to pay $110 for passports now that are of inferior quality, it's a good thing they didn't audit the costs of the older passport or we might have been paying $150.
