Hi: My uncle got his B2 visa stamped in 2006 but he didn't get a chance to visit US yet, though my aunt did get in same year and visited twice. Visa validity is for 10 years. Apparently one of my uncle's colleague told him that he should visit US before his service retirement (in April next year) as it might be an issue after this retirement. "Probably i believe retirement may cause some issue in when one goes for visa stamping as there a proof has to be shown for strong ties back home and employment is one of that", but not after visa is stamped which is the case here, am i right? Does it matter at all even if you don't visit in entire 10 years or visit anytime within the validity of visa. I haven't heard anything like this before. Please guide. Thanks

(4) The term ``application for admission'' has reference to the
application for admission into the United States and not to the
application for the issuance of an immigrant or nonimmigrant visa.

************************************************************

He has to prove his admissibility to Officer at the port-of-entry (POE).

Dad arrives and hands over his passport. It has a B-2 visa in it that was issued ???? years ago, back when he was still working.............

Officer: What is the purpose of your visit?

Dad: I am coming to visit my son.

What's your son do?

He works for XXXXX Company.

Is he here on a visa?

No, he has a greencard. OR No, he's a citizen. OR Yes, he has an H1-B work visa. ????????????????

What do you do?

I am retired.

??????????????????????

It's hard to say what the real questions and answers will be or how it will go??????????

Will dad be travelling alone or with mom?

So many variables, so many possibilities.

There's no legal requirement for the two of you to vacation together. will they question you at the airport? yes, of course, they question everyone. that's their job. will they ask you about your wife and why she didn't come with you? probably not, unless your visa was annotated to say that you would be traveling with her.

My friend wants to apply for a B2 tourist visa to the US along with his wife. He has got a kid a year and a half old. They will not be applying for the kid, as they wanna go on a late honeymoon.

I have got my B2 visa along with my wife yesterday. The reason we said was that we need to go on a vacation
