B2 visa, I-134 question

Hi,

I have a question about the I-134 affidavit of support needed for a B2 visa. I am not a US citizen or a permanent resident. I am on F1 visa and have a full time job (OPT). I want to file form I-134 to bring a relative here for a couple of months on a tourist visa, but I was told by an INS customer service representative that I-134 can only be filed by a citizen or perm resident. The operator did not seem sure. Is this true? Does the sponsor need to be a US citizen or perm. resident? Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes. It can be filed by a Gc holder or citizen only. However you can sponsor whoever you need to invite here. Try to file in line with the questions in that form and provide as much as information required.
