B1 Visa Single Entry with annotation

can anybody help me on my situation. I am scheduled to take an exam in Hawaii this march 2007 and I was already given a single entry B1 visa (which will expire on May 2007) with an annotation of "To take exam in Hawaii March 2007". my problem is I have relatives in california which i'm planning to visit after my exam. will it be possible for me to go to california with a single entry B1 visa that I have without getting any trouble with the US immigration. this is the first time that i'll be travelling and i'm afraid if i'll get into trouble. your advise is pretty much appreciated. thanks.

More international airlines fly into LAX/SFO than Honolulu. You will not be raising any flags if you land at LAX/SFO with your final destination of Honolulu. Just ensure that you are carrying documentation with regards to your exam.

thanks for the response. my situation is different. I will be flying in direct to Honolulu and plans to go to California right after my exam. since my visa is a single entry with annotation, am still allowed to go to California in that case?

Of course. You have a US visit visa, not a Hawaii visit visa. Once you are done with your exam, take a "domestic" flight to LAX/SFO (or any other airport in California).

thanks for the clarification. i was just a bit confused because this is the first time that i'll be travelling alone and i don't have any idea of US immigration laws. i might get into trouble if i did it without inquiring first. once again thanks a lot.

Hi there! I am kinda on the same boat, I just read my visa and saw the annotation:

Taking USMLE in El Segundo Ca, staying 1-2 weeks, traveling alone.

What documents do I need to bring with me just in case they need to see it at my POE?
