B1 Visa for B.Com graduate

1. I am a B.Com graduate and did PGDCA.
2. I stayed in US for 5 years on H1B and back in Nov 2003 and my GC processing was on (Cleared I-140). I shifted my employer after that in US. I have no idea what is the current status of my GC. It might have been cancelled etc.,

Will the above factors will affectin getting B1 visa? Please reply. I have an appointment on Oct 13th at Chennai.
 
Yes. B visa is a non immigrant indent visa. Since you have filed your I 140, in the application you have to mention that you had applied for an immigration visa. Now you have more responsibility to prove you do not have any immigrant intention. How you are going to do that?

Please let me know how do I prove that? The GC process happened 5 years ago and shifted 2 employers after that. I have no idea what is the current status of my GC Processing. I even came to India once, got new H1 went to US without attending consultate interview as I had valid stamp on my passport.

Please share any tips.

During interview you can firmly tell the counsel that though ex employer filed an I 140 immigrant petition, but you are not interested in migration to US , that is the reason you come back to your home country and stand on this statement.
