Hello there,
Some questions here....I don´t know if this is the right place, but I am asking anyway ... :)

1.- Does anybody knows the procedure for a change of status from B1 (tourist) to TN?,
2.- Can this process be doing by mail?
3.- How to fill an I-129 in a perfect way, avoiding the help of an attorney (examples anybody??)
4.- Is an attorney really needed, or can be skiped out? :D

Thanks guys for your support!!

You are a Canadian citizen, right? If so, why are you in the US on a B-1 visa? Or is it B-1 status? Best option for your initial TN status is to leave the US and seek admission under TN at the POE.

No, I am Mexican.

I have a B visa valid for 10 years. What I want is travel to US as a tourist and once inside, look for a TN valid job. Once inside, I can change my status from B to TN.

But those questions come to my mind!!!!

Your employer could file an I-129 on your behalf, but you'll need a visa stamp if you exit the US or USCIS doesn't approve the COS.

What do you planning on telling the POE?

I am going to enter US as a tourist, and that´s what I am going to say at POE. A vacations visit to Florida is very common. (You know, Mickey mouse ).

Once inside, I can search for a valid TN job. But I don´t know if the paperwork can be done by myself, you know, without an attorney.

That´s why I am asking some feedback.

Paperwork can be done, without an attorney (fill out I-129). But it has to be signed by your employer. Follow these steps:

1. Get the job offer first.
2. If the employer is willing to fill the I-129, you are done here,
3. If not, fill it. Ask questions on the TN forum, it is very helpful.
4. After filling it, get the employer to sign and send it to USCIS with the appropriate docs and fee.
