Hi Triple Citizen,

I hope u remember me. I got my B1/B2 (10yrs Multiple Entry) stamped in AUG 2008 and i was working for a company X. I went to US on 15th Sept 2008 and came back on 6th Nov 2008 under B1.

Now its only been a month since i joined a new company and i would like to go to US for a week to see my new born niece. Though i m not very much inclined to take a week off, my sister insists me in coming there for a week. I want to know if i can travel on B2 if so what documents should i carry and what questions should i expect at POE.

I m planning to take a copy of my leave letter for the period of my absence.

Should i ask my sister to send any invitation letter??

Will there be any prob coz i switched company !!

Awaiting your response.

Thanks in advance..

Visiting your new born niece is a perfectly legitimate reason to seek entry into the US. I really do not see you having any POE problems.

Dear Triple Citizen,

Thanks for your prompt reply. Do you think i need to carry any documents??
And if asked at POE can i tell them about my new job and it was in the old co i got my B1/B2 stamped?

Sorry for bothering you,
Thanks a lot.

Carry whatever makes you feel comfortable. Answer truthfully what you are asked and do not volunteer any information. Good luck!!!

Dear Triple Citizen,

I've blocked my tickets on 1st July to US, could you please tell me wht are all the documents i should carry and what kind of ques 'll be asked @ poe.

thanks a lot.

For a personal visit, I would carry just my return ticket and a few credit cards to prove I can cover my expenses.

as per my experience from coming several timpes under B-visa, many times for business trips, and many times for pleasure here's how it will go.

1. Where are you coming from?
2. What is the purpose of your trip? i would be inclined to answer for vacation porpuses without volunteering information at this point about relatives... if you give the "visiting a new born niece response" be prepared to answer questions related to your family that lives here, for how long, etc.
3. How long will you be visiting for? answer exact number of days, or inclduing the departure date.
4. Where do you work?
5. How did you pay and will pay for your expenses here? credit cards.

It is highly likely that POE officer will ask if you have relatives living in the US if your address in your immigration form is a house or apartment, so here is when you would inform about your family driven purpose vacation trip if you did volunteer in question about purpose.

And no documents are necessary... good luck
