B visa overstay...

6th-year

New Member
Frend of mine who has 10 years multiple entry B1-B2 visa.
He overstayed his posted dated on I-94 by 29 days because of his unexpected family matters.(no extension filed)
So his visa is void automatically by section 222(g)
we are trying to see what are the chances that he may be able to get the b1-b2 visa again if he applied for it when he got back to his home country also, hes going back to his country on tuesday, and we were wonderign if there was anything he should try to do before he goes back?

thank you for any help

Damage has already been done. He just now needs to pray that when he next attempts to enter the US, the officer at the POE does not cancel his B-2 visa and send him back. I wish him good luck.

I thought his visa is AUTOMATICALLY canceled. He did not file for an extension, so he plainly overstayed. He can not use a canceled/void visa.

Return Ticket on 182nd day

Hi

I bought tickets for my parents coming to US on May 22 on visitor visa. The return ticket is for November 19th. I thought it would be less than 180 days but now when I was looking for travel insurance, I realized that Nov 19th is 182nd day. Would it be a problem?
I can think of 3 options -
Ask the officer at POE for I-94 till Nov 19 showing him the return ticket and explaining the mistake.
Call the airline and get it for few days earlier which would cost few hundred dollars more each ticket.
File for extension.

Any advice/suggestions would be welcome

Thanks a lot

Sorry for the confusion. I realized that the return ticket was after 180 days only when i was hunting for travel insurance.
