availability of dates for H-1B restamping in Mumbai during Dec 10 to Dec 20 and required documents

I have to get a new visa stamp since my past stamp has expired in June 10(My employer filed an extension and got an approval for another year in April 10). I plan to visit India in late Dec(around 10-20). Will there be any dates available in the Mumbai consulate? I checked the VFS site and it does not give me any dates even for November for Mumbai.

1. Has anyone got a appointment date for December in the past for Mumbai consulate for a H-1B?

2. What docs would I need other than the mentioned(I-797, entire H-1B petition, pay stubs, tax returns, revised offer letter, degree certificate) documents? I am directly employed for a US university.

Can anyone please offer some advice?

- CEAC Barcode printout.
- Application visa fee original receipt issued by HDFC bank.
- Copy of interview appointment letter which you get at the time of setting appointment with VFS.
- Original H1 approval form I-797.
- Offer letter from the company in USA.
- Valid Passport.
- Original Experience Certificates from all your previous employment's.
- All other legal papers you received with your H1 documents, like from I129.
- All your Original Degree Certificates.
- Demand draft for visa issuance Fee.

Thanks for the list. I heard the consulates were asking documents like state unemployment report, salary and immigration status of all employees hired by the employer which made me leery. I realize they do it mainly for consulting companies and not for reputed employers.

Thanks for the response. I hope the consulate does not ask for things I might not have like immigration status of all employees of my university, their salary and state unemployment reports filed by the university.
