AUGUST - Visa revalidation tracking

help please

I have sent my passport for visa renewal to the state department on august 26th. I still haven't heard anything from them yet.
Today I heard my friend who sent his passport in mid-september got his visa renewed. The worrying thing is, his passport was sent to some company in Iowa (whereas my friend has nothing to do with Iowa). That company's HR person was gracious enough to locate him and FedEx his passport to him. This is not only ridiculous but out-right scary.
Can anyone please provide a phone number which I can call to query the status of my visa renewal? I really appreciate it. Thanks.

Chaya - Thanks for the info. Called up the visa office and was told that my Visa was approved last friday. Got an email from my attorney that he got my passport this afternoon. All is well now. :)

Just now i spoke to the visa office .Today my passport was approved, and waiting for printing.
Any way i changed my travel dates. actually i suppose to fly on DEC 26th.

Finally I received my passport yesterday 26 Dec at 9.30 am. Everything looks fine and it is just in time for my flight on 31st Dec.
Thanks to everyone in this forum for all your good work. Without your support and information I would have cancelled my ticket way back...
