Camera_guy, thanks for your response. Sorry for my late post. I sure will update the list as soon as I know my status.

Call has a long waiting time (about 30 min and counting...).

Waiting Time

If you need to talk to the DC lady the best time would be in the morning between 9-11 AM EST. The wait time would be less when compared to other times. Of course, if everybody who reads this calls at the same time, again we will be back to square 1. :) Better luck everybody...

Hi guys

I just saw in september thread that, PremChopra---3rd Sept SL---26th Sep DC, was approved yesterday. I guess then they mustbe processing 27th Sep cases today. My DC date is 29th Sep, so I am thinking of calling DC on Friday....

I called today,
She told me, “it has been approved and not yet printed”
then asked for date, she told "no"
then asked, when I can expect it? She told "soon"

Hi,

DC lady confirmed that my case has been approved (yet to go through Printing). My dates are as follows: -

SL = 19-Aug
DC = ??? (she didn't tell me)
Approved = 04-Dec

I have updated the list as follows. I will add more updates as soon as it becomes available to me.

reason: your application is not clearly approvable at this time. Per regulations you require a personal interview with a consular officer. you must apply for a new visa overseas at a US embassy or consulate that processes nonimmigrant visa apps.
Any ideas what to do next?
Is it safe to apply in chennai?

Visa expired before revalidation?

Hi,

Do any of you know of cases where the Visa had expired before sending it for revalidation and still got approved?

My visa had expired by much less than an year ago. My I-797 and I-94 have always been in status.

Do such cases get classifed under 221(g)?

221(g) only comes into picture , when H1 status is violated.
Like 1) W2 wage is less than LCA wage - How Wahington DOS know??

May be other reasons cud be - Out of status(Like I94 expired , but stayed in US without any H1 pending..)

221(g) covers all the violation scenarios.

Correct me if wrong..

Here is what 221 g means

Visa Refusals

The Visa Office will refuse your revalidation application under section 221(g) of the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 and return your documentation to you if your application lacks any, some, or all of the following:

A properly completed Nonimmigrant Visa Application Form DS-156
A Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application Form DS-157, for all male applicants aged 16 to 45, regardless of nationality;
Visa photograph that does not meet our nonimmigrant visa photo requirements;
Reciprocity fee payment, if required;
A passport bearing the most recent visa in the same classification as the visa being applied for;
A passport that will expire in less than six months;
An application sent more than 60 days before expiration of the current visa or more than one year after the expiration of the previous visa;
An employment letter that it is not comprehensive and does not describe the applicant’s duties in detail;
I-797 Notice of Approval or I-94 from your most recent admission to the U.S.

could this be the reason?
but the instructions say:
A passport valid for travel to the U.S. and valid at least six months beyond the visa application date (including Visa Office processing time).
 
SEP 27 DC RECD DATE

Hi Folks,
I called DC office just now(6:30am PST) and the Visa officer informed me that my Visa was issued yesterday(12/03) and I enquire when the visa would be printed and she replied 'Hopefully today".

I am glad that the officer courteously replied with information.

My information:
SL RECD DATE: SEP 2
DC RECD DATE: SEP 27
CALLED DC OFFICE: DEC 5TH
INFORMED VISA WAS ISSUED ON: DEC 4TH

I had called DC office on Nov 10th to enquire when my passport was receeived at their office and I was informed that it was Sep 27th.

Hope this information helps to those whose DC recd date is on or after Sep 27th.

I shall keep this forum posted when I receive my passport.

This forum has helped me track the processing time and thanks to everyone who had their information on this forum.

Did they not tell you y they did not approve ??
In my case They sent it back to me bcoz form D156 was not duely filled I sent it back to them and waiting on it .

I will get it back by today eve as per fedex tracking , but I dont know if it was approved this time.
